Scenic Beauty of Hokuto City
The Jinja Waterfall of the Ojira River in Hakushu-town
Hokuto City is a fantastic location to enjoy viewing closely those hightest mountains in Japan including the Yatsugatake ridge(2,899m at the highest peak), the Southern Alps(3,193m at the highest peak), Mt.Kayagatake(1,704m), and Mt.Mizugaki(2,230m) as well as viewing the top of Mt.Fuji(3,776m) at a distance.
Clean water originating from these high mountains shape various gorges, and colorful flowers seasonally paint the green-rich earth in Hokuto-city. In spring, picturesque cherry blossoms are in full bloom and their pink color is highlighted by the snow-capped mountains. In summer, brilliant sunflower fields appear all over an area in Akeno-town under full sun. In autumn, tree leaves spectacularly turn their color into vivid reds, yellows, and oranges.
